In addition to Feeding the 5k Dublin, they are committed to other sponsorship projects promoting consumer education, food banks and healthy eating/healthy lifestyle. The potatoes and vegetables that will be used for Feed the 5k Dublin are taken from Class II (misshapen, blemished) waste produce. However, none of Meade Potato Company’s Class II ‘waste’ is actually wasted. All of it either goes to the Dublin-based food bank Crosscare, Belfast-based FareShare community food network or to local farms as stock feed.
